Today I interview Renee Lake, author of the Bathory Curse.
Natasha: Tell me about yourself. How long have you been writing? When you are not writing, how do you like to spend your spare time?
Renee: I have been writing since I was a little girl, all kinds of crazy stories. I wrote plays for my sisters and I to act out, and filled hand made journals with tales my friends and I would go on.
When I am not writing I am working and taking care of my family, but when I have quiet time I watch Doctor Who and read.
Natasha: Tell us a little about your current project. What was your favorite scene to write? What was your least favorite scene?
Renee: My least favorite scene to write was one about a mother harming her baby, it was needed for the plot, but as a mom that was hard for me to write.
In the middle of my novel there is a re-telling of Dracula, from the MC POV, and it makes him an anti-hero instead of the villain. That was my favorite part to write.

Natasha: Do you have any other exciting projects coming out?
Renee: I am currently writing a gothic ghost story
Natasha: Do you have any advice for other writers trying to get published?
Renee: It is hard, I have submitted my novels to hundreds of literary agents and been turned down many times simply because, "I really liked this, but I don't think I can sell it to my contacts right now." Self publishing is difficult, but I find enjoyment knowing people still read and enjoy my novels.
Natasha: What is the best way for readers to reach you?
Renee: Through my blog or my email, though I have a big presence on facebook and twitter as well.
